Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I get a price and place an order?
A. Just call us at 704-376-PLAY and we will provide you with all the answers and get your order under way.

Q. How do I figure out my playground layout?
A. Playground Layout can be a daunting task. In addition to aesthetics and price, you also must determine equipment spacing to meet safety regulations. Your plan also must consider landscaping, shade, observation, ADA-accessibility and age ranges. We have a national network of installers who sell our equipment and perform installations for us. They can help you with layout, design and all safety issues. They will provide you with the surfacing needed under all playground equipment. For large playgrounds, you may want to also consider hiring a landscape architect.

Q. Does my playground need to be ADA-compliant?
A. Most all playgrounds of any size need a certain level of handicapped accessibility. To find out your specific requirements, read the ADA's play guide. Fortunately, many of our playground structures are accessible, and we can modify most others to create accommodation.

Q. Do I need a safety surfacing under my equipment?
A. Yes! Safety surfacing is the most important element of any playground, as most serious playground injuries occur from impact after falls. You MUST have compliant play surfacing under most equipment types. We can help you determine the best surfacing option for you.

Q. How long do items take?
A. Our standard turn around time is about four weeks. If you order any non-standard colors it will take around five to six weeks as we will have to wait for parts to arrive.

Q. How do you get my playground to me?
A. We have agreements with both regional and national trucking companies that allow us to ship our products at less than half of the consumer rate. We will provide our discount to you in order to greatly reduce your shipping cost. We will not add on any handling or surcharge to you, this is a service we provide for free. When one ships items of this size, prices are determined zip code-to-zip code. Thus, every shipment must be called in separately to get a quote. Once you have determined what you want to buy and tell us where you want it delivered to, we can call it in to get you a shipping quote. We can also use the your shipper, if you prefer, or you can pick up any item directly from our production facility in Charlotte, NC. The choice is yours.

Q. How do I get my playground installed?
A. We provide directions with our equipment that make them ready to install by any handy person with adequate tools. However, for the safety of children using the equipment, we strongly suggest that you hire a NPSI Certified Playground Safety Inspector to conduct your installation. Using a proper installer can also prove critical in minimizing exposure to injury lawsuits. Our national network of installers are all NPSI certified. They can help you with layout, design and all safety issues. They will provide you with the surfacing needed under all playground equipment. Our equipment will cost the same to you no matter who you use, our installers only charge you for the installation of the equipment.

Q. What are the other costs to consider?
A. Other costs may include shipping, installation, safety surfacing, landscaping, and fencing. It simply depends on the scope of your particular project. Call us and we will help you determine how to allocate your budget.

Q. What is the age range for your equipment?
A. Most all of our equipment was specifically designed for a particular age group, (toddlers 2 and under, 2-5 year-olds and 5-12 year-olds.) Just tell us your specific interests and we will point you to the right equipment or design to fit your need.

Q. How do I maintain my playground?
A. All playgrounds should have periodic safety audits performed by certified inspectors, as they can identify many hazards that you may not realize pose a potential problem. This will ensure compliance with regulations and limit exposure to litigation. Your installer can help you set up a risk management program for the ongoing care of your play area.
